Pros and cons of Bookshelf app for iPhone and iPad

Bookshelf app good for

This is the best version yet of VitalSource Bookshelf. It runs very smoothly, smoother than any other app on my device. An impressive redesign that is simpler and more intuitive than ever before.
Thanks for final allow split-screen multitasking with this program, Ive been wanting this feature for some time now. I definitely makes it alot easier to study from. I can now concurrently looking up things on line or watch a video. This is awesome!!!
All fine except I would suggest adding search in books and printing in Win version is too slow.
I guess most of the bad reviews are out dated? I havent had a single problem yet. I bought my books and point course codes from my schools library. It took me a little while to navigate the website but when it notified me that I could download my textbooks on my mobile I tried it out. This app lets me download my books so I can read offline when Im away from home or use it as a study companion. It even has an audio feature and the app will read the book to me, although I prefer to use Alex on iPhone with most text reading. There is a small learning curve, but I was up and running in 15 min. I dont ever recommend using digital only textbooks because things do happen and problems can occur, just like anything electronic. Its a great resource and allows me to freshen up between study sessions at any time. I love it.
I really like this app and I love how you can take notes and make highlights. One thing I would like is for a nighttime mode. Maybe some other reader-friendly additions. And another thing is the automated reading. On my laptop, I can have the program read the text to me. Im horrible at concentrating when reading alone and this helps me, but I dont get that luxury on the go. This would be an awesome addition. The nighttime mode too since, as a college student, I read at night a LOT. Thanks!
I am a college student. I recently started using this. The navigation is great and the ability to take notes and highlight certain things really helps when it comes to studying. I would recommend this app for on-the-go reference during class!

Some bad moments

No notes No functionnal zoom No free draw Well nothing except bugs Ieven dont Know How they sold so many licence to formation editor
Does not save your page. Scroll to next page ? Well let me bring you back 30 pages in the chapter. Use notes to save your page ? Well lets say the notes also want to drive you crazy : it does NOT work ! Its a shame CFA institute provides its ebooks through this
It dose not work at all It is very difficulte to use It is an expérience the first Time i buy A book. On your site And i Think the last Time !!
This app is a pain. - it reacts extremely slow. Sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds to open the next page. - the tools - probably most important for most readers, particularly students - are ridiculous. Making highlights is really slow and sometimes doesnt work at all. - textbooks are about 500mb each. I am currently studying towards the CFA exam, so the entire CFA curriculum takes about 3gb. PDFs of comparable size have about 30-40gb each. Id really like to mention something positive here, but for the last couple of months this app literally freaked me out at least twice a day.
I am stuck with it because of the CFA books, it keeps crashing when I scroll and is extremely slow. Painful having to use this instead of the Acrobat reader.
This is one of the worst applications I have ever used. It is slow, it crashes, it makes it difficult to highlight and it doesnt even synchronize my books well enough among different devices. I have wasted so much time trying to make the synchronization work... It is just frustrating. I hope someone will have a better experience than mine.
