Many books are a gross, blurry mess
VitalSource have finally updated this app to support the iPad Pro and multitasking, so welcome to 2015 guys!
Unfortunately the biggest problem with this app is that many books (the type which preserve the appearance and layout of the original printed book) look like a gross, blurry mess, as if this app is showing low-resolution screenshots of the book, rather than vector print and diagrams. This also means zooming in on anything is pointless as it looks even worse. Ill note that the Mac version of VitalSource Bookshelf does not have this problem, so I dont know why books look so awful on the iPad.
I dont know why I pay for legitimate access to textbooks and then am reduced to wanting to go find a PDF on the Pirate Bay in order to get something thats actually legible and good quality on an iPad.
This app is functional, but nowhere as nice as some of the better PDF readers for iOS. I mainly just wish VitalSource would fix the blurry books in their iOS app.
