Bookshelf App Reviews

Works well

Bent a working student this app is nice in a pinch to stay on top of reading. One addition I would like to see is either allow Siri to read the text or add a narrator as an option to listen to the text while driving or working out to help save time for those of us that would like to save some time. This would give us an option to listen to the text while working out or driving to or from work to save and maximize time. Other than hat the app works great. N

Best e-book out there

As an online student, I use many e-books. This app is hands-down the best one for e-books. Blows Pearson Education out of the water.

Doesnt work

Doesnt work. Wont even let me open my books and I cant use it. Keeps saying error. Anybody know how to fix this?

Highlighting issues.

It used to be great but have recently noticed issues when trying to highlight. It will highlight my whole page or just part of my highlight.

Hate it

Always freezing for some reason. Worst highlight, they only have yellow. Worst app ever

Awesome

Works great! Never an issue! Use it for school. Great alternative to carrying books.

The worst I have seen.

What a waste. Absolutely, worthless as a online reading apps. Too many problem to try to list. Let the figure it out. I am done with this online reading tool.

So slow, almost unusable

At my nursing school, it is mandatory that we purchase these ebooks. We paid a lot of money to use these books and its ridiculous to think that we cant use this app so that we can view our downloaded books. This app is so slow thats its almost unresponsive. I feel like Ive been robbed. Seriously!

Frozen

Normally, this app works moderately well. However, for the past week my textbook has been frozen on the same page. Ive tried everything I can to unfreeze it, but I cant fix it. My textbook is literally unusable right now.

Slow on iOS

Im a nursing student and we are automatically charged for our e-books, which we must view using vital source. This app is so slow its frustrating. It takes at least 10 seconds at times to just highlight or delete/change a highlight. Scrolling is also slow at times. I dont get why an app that takes up so much space can be this slow. Im very annoyed with this app.

Needs an audio option

The only thing that would make this app 100% better is an audio option. Being able to listen to my textbooks while doing other things would make them feel a lot less like textbooks and a lot more manageable in my daily life.

Useless app

I have all my,school textbooks on here over $500+ in material and the app is so slow and unresponsive. It has been stuck on one page for weeks and I cant get to any of my books, Ive tried everything but nothing works.

Sort of dated.

It works, and is a lot better than what my school used to use. But I wish it was updated for split screen support, it would be very useful

Not updating. App frozen.

This app has gotten me through at least (3) courses, so Im not going to complain that much. However, at the moment this app alone is frozen in the middle of updating (or something) on the home screen of my iPhone 6 Plus. So, I cant do anything with it. Lil Help?!?!?

Awesome

Synchronized across all platforms and great for taking notes and highlighting along the way!

The worst

I never write reviews but I am so annoyed with this app right now. It crashes 3 times before it actually works and if I step away from my iPad for a minute and the screen turns off I gotta go through the 5 minute process of starting it up again, waiting for it to crash, over and over. But I use it because its convenient for me... I would just be so happy if they fixed this one bug.

Bookmarking and Ease of use

This version is far behind the other ebook readers available for use. How do you not offer a bookmark option? I wish my school didnt use it.

Please remember where I left off

iPad 9.7 Pro and iPhone 6 Plus. Sometimes it remembers where I left off and most of the times it does not. Useless features like changing chapters on a right swipe?! Who came up with that? One mistaken swipe and it loses where the hell I was on the previous chapter. Get it together. Using it cause I am forced to.

Better than ProtectedPDF

I have been going to University of Phoenix for a while and they switched to this for their textbooks. This is much better than the "ProtectedPDF" books that we had before. It might be a little buggy, and sometimes it does crash, but for the most part this app is better than the previous app. Having the ability to view my books offline is amazing, and has made my iPad much more usable for my school. Once they fix the bugs in the app, one feature that would make this a killer app would be multitasking (split screen). Being able to have Word and my textbook open at the same time would make researching my papers so much easier!

Want read-aloud like my Mac

I have vital source bookshelf on my MacBook Pro, but the iPhone version does not have the reader to read aloud. I think it needs it even more because the screen is too small to read for a long period of time. Please make this update. Thank you
