Book doesnt show up

My book doesnt even show up in the book list. I tried "update book list" several times but its useless. And it takes so long to sign into the app.

highlighting text issue

There is a problem with highlighting text, which would be great if it can be solved. I can not select and highlight any sentences (or few words), I can only select and highlight single words. Please look into this problem. Thanks.

Garbage

Not looking forward to study with this tool. Unfortunately no choice. Highlighting is a disaster. Page flipping is not present. User Interface is outdated and bothersome. Developers, take some help from iBooks, Kindle, Koobo etc. Im pretty sure it wont be copyright infringement because most the things missing/poorly designed is common sense.

Worst app

Worst app ever... To solve that and be able to read book on the ipad just go on your pc use pdfcreator and pdfmerger to creat a pdf version of your books and then you can read your book and modify letter size using a better pdf app

Cannot highlight

Using this for school has proven challenging. To highlight is a challenge and sometimes it highlights the wrong word. The kicker is that ice not figured out how to delete the highlighted bite I do not want. Also, it freezes and I have to exit to reset it. Truly frustrating.

Worst app ever.

Like it was made by a drunk monkey using typewriter. Seriously, if this is the future of higher education resources, college just got a lot less useful. Highlighting, copy and paste, and notes just dont work as advertised. Layout of books is not consistent. Buy print editions!

Book shows up fine. Highlighting is suppppper slow

Need to fix the highlighting function takes way to long and freezes at time. Needs just a highlight tool. Only continue to use it cause its the only place I can open my courses textbook

Poor app

This app hangs far too often. As well when I accidentally highlight something I cannot quit out of it. A lot of times I cannot move forward or backwards on the page that I am on. Most annoying app!

No choice. Not very good.

I have no choice to use this app because my school text doesnt exist in other apps. If there was a second option then I would recommend to look for other option because this one isnt very good. Turning pages is a huge hassle, you always end up highlight words or just froze for some odd reason.

Absolutely Horrible

The whole UX is just terrible! By far the worst app you can buy. The UI is out dated, the charts in the textbooks are cut off and split through several pages and there are times where I have to close the entire app to get out of the particular textbook because the app is so unresponsive. Half of the links dont work! And you can even zoom in on the figures! Regret buying the textbooks from them, and wish my school did some research before stalking their ebooks

Terrible app

App needs optimizing for iOS7. Unbearably slow. Too often, words get highlighted at the slightest touch. Double tap to zoom doesnt work properly. To call yourself the most advanced ebook software is a farce and lie to any and all customers.

Needs ALOT of fixing!!!

Unfortunately, I have no choice but to use this app for school.. But its like the WORST app ever!! Its extremely slow, KEEPS freezing.. I cant select words without it freezing, I cant highlight, I cant even zoom in without it freezing! Please fix it. Stop ignoring people..

An impressive redesign

This is the best version yet of VitalSource Bookshelf. It runs very smoothly, smoother than any other app on my device. An impressive redesign that is simpler and more intuitive than ever before.

Whatever you do....dont upgrade...it will ruin your reading experience

I am so frustrated with this latest upgrade to this program. Im being forced to use it, because the printed textbook for my course wasnt available yet. The app was fine before they changed the look on this last update. - Now I cant read the top and bottom parts of any page, because they are covered by useless UI!!! - it always misdirects any glossary links - illogical placement of hiding TOC -

Needs Spritz added!

Please add Spritz technology to the app to allow for a faster read!! Add Spritz!

Hard to use

This app is very frustrating and hard to use. Some books take forever to download and some download in second. Its hard to get the pages to format to the screen as the menu covers some of the words which makes trying read underneath the menu useless. I know this app was free but dont out out an app if it isnt quality.

No audio?!

For a reading app used on a phone, you either need to makes the text bigger or adds audio to it! Ridiculous app, my eyes and hands gets tired after seconds of scrolling and reading word by word.

For better reading needs HD & sepia tone

I agree with a previous reviewer that the app needs to be HD so text doesnt become fuzzy when enlarged (unless this is the fault of Norton). And, it needs a sepia tone option for easier reading. Also, it is not easy to use the app for making notes or to underline text.

Awful functionality and customer support

Received an error message while trying to download my first book. The solution? Jump through some hoops and hope customer support will (eventually) help you. Why are there no tools to solve the problem ourselves if getting help is going to be so challenging?

Useless university textbooks

The resolution of the eText will be lower when downloading the book on an iPad or iPhone due to the file size. Apple devices are restricted to internal memory (16, 32, 64 and 128 GB). Due to those restrictions, the eText file size is reduced as much as possible thus reducing the scan resolution. Unfortunately there is no adjustment other than zooming into the text which will make smaller text become blurry. They should give you an option for higher resolution textbooks some people buy bigger iPad memories. The only way I can stand to read my textbook is on my computer now making this app useless. The desktop version of bookshelf is sharp on retina macs I have no complaints. Pathetic you expect to read your textbook on your iPad only to find it has the same resolution as a 90s Palm Pilot.
